As a Philippine passport holder, there are only few countries where we can go without a visa. Unfortunately, Japan is not one of them. Matt has been staying there since January 2015 for a secondment and of course, I wouldn’t let the chance pass by before I go to see the place myself. The tourist visa application wasn’t so easy yet it wasn’t that difficult.
The reasons I went there in May just when cherry blossoms are at fall were first, it’s golden week where Matt’s company is on a shutdown. Second, that’s when his parents go for a holiday as well. 🙂
It was my first time to fly from Manila alone. Glad I survived the tanim bala scam!
So I arrived in Tokyo past 8 in the evening and before I found the handsome Brit waiting for me in the arrival, my suitcase was asked to be opened by an airport personnel. I wasn’t sure why but for security reasons, I gave in and let him discover all the Kopiko coffee packs that I brought for Matt.
